Multifaceted, art installation for Papertrail at Carbon Copy Gallery, 2023

Multifaceted was an art installation created for the Papertrail exhibit at Carbon Copy Gallery in 2023. The piece was intentionally crafted using household items, such as glue, wire, and packing tape, to approach the process in a DIY fashion.

The colorful triangles were formed by blending oil-based printmaking inks together in gradients on Japanese rice paper. The installation was thoughtfully displayed in front of a large window, allowing the sun to illuminate it during the day, while at night, a color-shifting animation projected over the front of the piece, allowing the bands of colors to shift.

 

The exhibit was curated by Lindsey Cummins and Lucas Keown of Printed collective and offered an alternative display to the zines and prints featured in the show.
